Trump on France riots and Kansas rally: "migrants, jihadists, and communists," "Paris … a Muslim city" (Oct. 18-19, 2026)

Case

Between Oct. 18 and 19, 2026, Trump blamed "migrants, jihadists, and Communists" for riots in France, said Paris will soon be "a Muslim city," and used the unrest to warn Kansas rally voters about Democrats. French officials and the protests' origins point to cost-of-living and school-funding anger, and Macron blamed "radical far-left groups" and criminals; no source reviewed shows who the rioters were by origin or religion. Quotes are from Trump's posts and remarks as reported by Reuters, the Washington Examiner and Fox News.

What Trump said (Oct. 18-19, 2026)
Oct. 18, 2026, Truth Social: "France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!"
Oct. 19, 2026, to reporters outside the White House: "Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon, and that wasn't the deal." He also said: "What's happening in France has to do with immigration, not schools, not anything."
Oct. 19, 2026, Truth Social post and rally remarks: France is "being conquered, looted, and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists, and Communists who hate Christianity, and Western Civilization, itself." The post added that they "have surrendered their country to vandals who could have never built it themselves."
In the same post Trump wrote: "When you see burning steeples and raging fires in France, just remember, THAT is what the Radical Dumocrats want to do to AMERICA." On Truth Social he also wrote that "The migrants have taken over France" and that they "must CLOSE THE BORDERS, FAST!"
At the Oct. 19 Park City, Kansas rally for Sen. Roger Marshall, Trump said European "globalist, left-wing politicians have treasonously imported millions and millions of third-world migrants." Reuters reported he used the French unrest as an argument against Democrats.
At the same rally, per Fox News, Trump attacked Reps. Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and said a vote for any Democrat lets "extremists" hold the country "hostage." Trump also called Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed "a fake doctor" and "an arrogant guy."
Before the rally, Trump told reporters, "A lot of the polls are rigged, just like the journalists are rigged."

What is documented about the French unrest
Reports describe the demonstrations as beginning as student-led and wider protests over education funding, living costs and fuel prices, followed by riots, looting and arson in some cities.
Per the French Interior Ministry as cited by the Washington Examiner, more than 500 police officers were injured, about 1,800 people were arrested by Oct. 18, and at least one protester died in Paris. Fox reported roughly 2,400 arrests by Oct. 19.
In his Oct. 18 national address, President Macron blamed "insurrectionist elements from radical far-left groups, joined by numerous criminals," and Prime Minister Lecornu was reported to have blamed "ultra-left radical groups."
None of the sources reviewed in this run provide a breakdown of arrestees by immigration status, origin or religion, so Trump's attribution of the violence to "migrants" and "jihadists" is not verified here by any source.

Perspectives

Official position — Donald Trump (as stated Oct. 19, 2026)
Trump's position, in his own terms: the unrest in France is about immigration, not schools or anything else, and he warned President Macron years ago that open borders would bring "nothing but trouble." He says the lesson for U.S. voters is that Democrats want to bring the same outcome to America, and that "We closed our borders."

Defender — Foreign-policy commentators quoted by Fox News
Commentators quoted by Fox News argue the French unrest is not about fuel prices but \"organized lawlessness,\" citing Macron's own government blaming ultra-left groups and criminals, and say France ignored questions of assimilation. Fox's reporting presents this as expert pushback against Macron linking the riots to the U.S.-Iran war.

Official position — French President Emmanuel Macron
Macron said in his Oct. 18 address that protesters were expressing concern about the cost of living and fuel prices, and that those who looted would have to pay for the damage. He blamed \"insurrectionist elements from radical far-left groups, joined by numerous criminals\" for the violence, not immigrants as a group.

Note
Trump says the unrest "has to do with immigration"; French officials blame far-left groups and criminals, and no reviewed source documents the rioters' origin or religion.
